I have seen nothing that makes me believe Sage plays backgames or snakes better than XG. In fact, what I have seen makes me believe the opposite. Also, we can see what settings you used for XG as you posted a XG rollout. We can not see what you used for Sage so we don't know whether you're comparing apples to apples or apples to fish sticks.
