When we use the term slot do we have to want to make the point? I know it's the run of the mill definition but there are certainly situations where we purposely slot points where we don't want to make the point. Here is one example (and many other backgame positions come to mind), the bear off is another where you'll roll checkers onto empty points. I still think of it as slotting because it is a point we voluntarily want to occupy even at the risk of being hit. It doesn't necessarily mean we want to make it.
