Well, the aphorism is not "always make the five point" it's (paraphrasing) "when in doubt, make the five point"

Here, we have a decent race lead, so the prosaic 20/13 looks thematic.But the three ensuing giant stacks look ugly, and her made ace point make me look for something more, shall we say, "aggressive".

Making the five unstacks the bloated six, makes the most valuable point, and only leaves an indirect shot at the 11.

Making the seven point unstacks two bloated points and makes a point that is almost as valuable as the five, and leaves no shots outside her homeboard.

Overall, the seven looks a bit better than the five. I'm not sure, but the aphorism is not dispositive, so I'll make the seven. Maybe I'll learn something.
