6 rolls vs. 6 rolls = double?

Reasoning: one roll later (5 rolls vs. 5 rolls) it is still a take, so better to wait.

Sometimes, one roll later it is 4 rolls vs. 5 and a big pass...

These late bearoff can be computed exactly with small programs like this one.

There is something about these situations at the beginning of the Racing off the ace chapter from Backgammon Boot Camp as well : 6 vs. 6, 7 vs. 7 and 8 vs. 8 are doubles ; 9 vs. 9 would not.
