There's the blotful smorgasbord of 10/9, 8/7, 6/5, 4/3, which builds a board really quickly. On the other hand Blue could roll something ridiculous like 64 or 54, or he might leave fly shots in the outfield if he rolls, say, 53. There's 8/5 6/5 which builds the best board immediately but leaves the checkers on the 10 point and the 4 point struggling to get to the 3 point. Then there's 6/3 4/3 which leaves a nice little distribution but the 5 point open, which will be a big problem if White doesn't close it. And finally there/s 6/5(2) 4/3(2) which gets all the builders working on both points and again leaves two blots in White's board, but only one outside instead of 3. The unfortunate thing there is that White could miss if he rolls a 3 or a 5 or an ace, whereas with the blotful play, every roll covers at least one of the blots.

I'd go with 8/5 6/5.
