Hi Stick,

Sorry the name of the event turns you off. Also, you said something in another post that makes it seem as if San Jose, Costa Rica is also a turnoff for you - I wonder why?

What's wrong with trying to make a "grandiose" tournament or using "World" or even "New World" in the title of a tournament?

I don't think Henrik has to try too hard. Henrik is highly respected and he was the Director of past and present tournaments in Denmark - the Nordic Open is a grandiose event; probably has the second or third best attendance in the world.

As for myself, the only other event I have directly helped to organize was the Atlantis Million tournament in 2007.

Other events have used similar names in the past:

- World Grand Championship in Morocco

- ABC World Championships held in the USA

- World Cup in Texas

- World Cup Challenge held in Turkey and Romania

I think it is cool to be different and imaginative. Anyway, you're entitled to your opinion.
