the 8pt is the most underrated point in the game

I thought that was the 2pt. If an opening 64 is damn close (after a zillion rollouts) while making the 2pt, while "everyone" is appalled at the play, it is arguably the most underrated point.

Perhaps you meant the most underrated great point?

By the way, I wouldn't be caught dead voluntarily leaving my last checker from the 24pt (with the other checker still in the home board) vs a stacked opponent's 6 and 8 unless there really was nothing else plausible. 6/5(2) 8/6 gets my vote.
