World Backgammon Rating

"How do you plan to value particular tournaments?" I believe you value the matches simply by the length, as long as it is a major money tourney. For example, a 19 pt match at MC will have more impact than a 3 pt match in the WSOB finals.
This has been done a couple of time before, failing to a lost database in the first case and a death in the second -- although I'm not at all sure about the latter.
I thought the only real problem was getting the complete score sheets for all rounds, including the consol and LC. Once the system for data entry for the rating calculation has been completed, entering the score sheet information should only be a few hours per major tourney at most. Results are only a website away.
You can refer to http://www.bg-info.com/kg_list.html and http://home.san.rr.com/guner/Davideratings.htm for examples.
