For maybe the 10th time in this match, when I paused to think I changed my play to something that is likely stupid. Almost as soon as the dice hit, I realized "this 31 sucks" and was playing 6/2 but then I noticed 6/3 13/12 leaving an extra shot but looking a bit easier if missed. What about hitting loose...that is great when it works, but soon results in hell if hit and I dance and soon get the 2nd checker hit. However, Stick has that dead checker and it won't often be trivial to close out two checkers.
Still in my nearly 5 minute thought process, I didn't like hitting loose, so I then took a lots deeper look at 6/3 or 6/2 and liked them less than initially and noted that 6/3 13/12 which I felt was better by a tad also lets Stick's now non hitting 66 and 44 play well for the race.
Finally and once again, I couldn't resist the desire to be flamboyant and played 8/4x commenting that maybe I'll G him. The problem, I think is that while this amps up the G's won and lost, the ones Stick wins mean more in gammon value than do the ones I win !
I think that I missplayed about 10 plays/cube decisions in this match after pausing to think a while and changing from my initial quick choice and quick thoughts that "yeah..that's the idea here"
