We want to double when our gain on market losers is greater than the loss on regret sequences; sequences where we wish we hadn't doubled. The market losers aren't difficult to see. The regret sequences are tougher. How do we feel about our cube after something mundane like 5-3 followed by 5-2. We probably would wish that the cube was still centered.

It looks like we have a few large market losers and a bunch of small regrets. (And oddly, few indifferent sequences. These usually are in the majority in holding games.) Huge market losers usually call for a cube turn. But, I'll wait and hope to find an effective cube when white leaves a blot.
