Spider Web Point Resort

This used to be a nice resort, according to the regulars, but the owner passed away and his son(s) are running the place into the ground.
I flew into Syracuse and rented a car and drove the 90 minutes north to the Scenic resort town of Alexandria Bay on the St.Lawrence and while I expected a bit of a rustic setting, I didn't expect to have to deal with a family of spiders to take my shower and then their offspring and intricate webbing in the bathroom windows of my $129 per night plus (high NY) tax room !! Outside the room, more of the same, GROSS neglect. More spider webs and mixed with pine needles all over the railings and looking like they'd been there all season. Pine needles and tree droppings all over the roofs and on my building weeds were growing out of this residue.
High season there, and the resort said that the kitchen and bar were closed for renovation. There was no sign of any work being done or even planned. Therefore we had to bring food in or eat out.
I waited in line an extra 10 minutes to check out Sunday while a couple people (Not BG players) in front of me complained about everything, some of what I hadn't noticed, that was totally sickening about paying $129 a night and having bugs in the room etc. At least for me, I didn't have any bugs after I got rid of the spiders and webs, and my bed was comfortable and clean and my end room quiet. I didn't ask for maid service, but amazingly got some (not all) clean towels and my bed maid while out to dinner.
Rene and Eden did a fine job and were appologetic for the disgrace that the resort has become, and on Saturday a big order for lunch arrived from Subway (most players paying the 8 bucks for a sub and chips and drink), and I went out to a nice steak place for a good dinner later discussing hockey with some new and old Canadian friends.
Thankfully the organisers are looking for a new venue for next year(s), and rest assured that I will not be returning to Spider Web Point unless there's new owners and they've quickly fixed things up to at least a reasonable standard and have an open kitchen and bar.
Oh... how the BG go ?? Well not good for me, as I my dice showed true irrelevance to the fact that they need to enter 2 pt boards, and once in a while hit shots, or roll a double in a race.(Perhaps I used up my allotment in Novi) It was nice to see that every event, including several mini T's was 100% return and I thank the organisers for their labor of love and look forward to next year's new venue. But for now, I look forward to my complaint letter to the Alex Bay CoC.
