In Response To: 6 rolls vs. 6 rolls = double? (Sam Pottle)

What good discussions there were in that newsgroup a decade ago. Chuck's question was the same as David's question now. Sam modestly neglects to mention that he answered Chuck's question then.

According to Stephen's "little program":

8 rolls vs 8 rolls is an initial double. 9 rolls vs 9 rolls is not. 33 rolls vs. 33 rolls is a beaver.

17 rolls vs 18 rolls is a pass. 18 rolls vs 19 rolls is a take. 25 rolls vs 26 rolls is not a redouble. 30 rolls vs 31 rolls is not an initial double. 193 rolls vs. 194 rolls is a beaver.

Paraphrasing one of Chuck's comments in that old discussion: "If Yogi Berra read this forum, he would respond: "It's rec.games.backgammon all over again!"
