I don't think 2 effective pips is enough lead for a recube in a race of this length. The epc already accounts for chequers borne off, so having four off becomes irrelevant.

However, I've overestimated the epc for White. Using the stack and straggler method, Blue has 11 chequers * 3.5 + 25 = 63.5. Then I add 3 pips for dancing vs 3 points (=66.5), and about 4 pips for the acepoint gap.

For White, the stack and straggler method gives 15 * 3.5 + 7 + 14 = 73.5. Gnubg tells me it's really about 70 pips. I haven't worked out a nice formula for stack and pair of stragglers yet. However, it is logical that having two chequers loose provides added flexibility and therefore less wastage.
