Very hard to analyze a theoretical position but fwiw:

• How does my ace play elsewhere?
• Is my opponent on the attack and do I have other blots strewn around the board where an anchor may be necessary to survive the upcoming sequence?
• How many stones in the zone does my opponent have?
• Is my opponent's 8pt stripped?
• Has my opponent made any other offensive points?
• Is stepping up to the 22pt the next point my opponent would like to make?
• Are my best winning chances a two point game?
• Am I likely to be on the offensive or defensive next turn?
• Am I ahead in the race and need to get the back men moving or behind sufficiently that the 2pt may be more valuable than the 3pt?
• Am I duplicating or diversifying my own good numbers? Usually having the back checkers two pips apart involves some duplication of your own good numbers.
• Am I diversifying my opponent's good rolls?
