Gammons and even the lucky BG (when Stick stays for a last ditch shot and we get really lucky) are still quite useful to us.

I'll take two checkers off noting that each extra checker off when hit with as many checkers off as we'll have when hit is about a 10% increase in our winning chances if hit. In spite of that I'd make the safer play at DMP, but this isn't DMP.
