Slow play impact on Swiss formats

All matches in round n must be completed before round n+1 starts. There are strict time controls in place, and any match that is still running by the time the round should have officially ended is ruled upon. I cannot recall completely, but I am pretty sure its 9pt matches, with 90 mins allotted for each round, and next round starts 30 mins afterwards - maybe less, maybe more, but certainly these are good approximations. I will ask Tom at the club tonight, and will be able to give a formal answer tomorrow.

Either way, the Madison tournament is run very effectively - not that I am biased or anything.
