Historic BG Quiz problem 5

By making the 5 point, 1's are duped, White's checker on the roof is a favored to come in, and Black still needs tons of time to extract the guys on the 24. Therefore, White's most common path to victory will involve picking up a second or even a third checker. Unfortuately the 1 duplication plus the 20 immiediate incoming numbers make this path rather narrow.
Timing is best achieved by slotting the 5, putting 2 on the roof now, and positioning the roll of of a 5 to put a 3rd up. Making the 5 risks 7 returns that put the checker on the 16 point on the roof. Slotting the 5 just risks 4 more numbers and the reward is huge when not hit.
I am apparently going against the tide but my guess is 5* and 15* are right and 5 turns out to be a whopper or close to it.
