What is Cancelgammon?

While I won't spend much time playing varients of BG as I feel it messes up my main game, Cancelgammon is close enough to BG that I played it Friday night.

I do feel it would be a better game if the cancel marker were used like a doubling cube.

However, I wasn't terribly impressed with Cancelgammon, noting, that for me, regular BG is good enough.
