I agree with Bob. Byes in the first round, (in the case of 24 players for instance), don't go against the grain as much as byes INTO the money as happened in the WSBC.

The solution may have been amenable to all concerned, but it was not fair imho. Time considerations were best addressed by drawing straws, rolling dice or flipping three coins until one came up different from the other two.

The weaker players were at a disadvantage vs. a great player who coincidentally made a fortune by figuring out small percentages in the stock market. Neil is the best, no doubt about it. Even the players who agreed to PLAY against him for the bye would agree 100%.

The directors made a decision that made everyone happy, and the event went along great. My only regret is not beating Tim in Round 8! Then I could have had some relevant input into the bye structure, and we wouldn't have been playing for it either, Neil! (smile)

Thanks to Bill and Tom and their friendly staff, it was a great event enjoyed by all.
