3 finalists

There are other ways to deal with 3 finalists in a Masters event (like when you start with 12 or 24 players).
At the Southeast Championships we did this:
A random draw was done to determine one player that would get a bye.
Each of the three finalists receive $900.
The two non-bye players play each other and the winner of that match gets an additional $552.
The winner of that match plays the bye player for the championship, and the winner of this final match gets an additional $1164.
Thus there is an addition financial reward for missing out on the bye but still becoming the champion by winning two matches.
The percentages of the prize pool are not hard and fast, but these amounts seemed to be reasonable. Basically it was 20% to each player, 12.5% for the first match and 27.5% for the final.
