This was the method proposed by Richard Munitz. It almost won the day, but when Neil agreed to split the money three ways and play a shorter RR for the trophy, the other finalists were very agreeable.

I think the round robin is cleaner, but I would use this method under three conditions:
1. the 24-player draw cannot be avoided.
2. there isn't time for a RR.
3. the method is announced before play begins so everyone has time to convince themselves that it is fair.
