Alot of these responses go something like this...

IF IT WAS A REAL SWISS...

...then the 9-0 guy would have to be beat 3 times by the 7-2

...the 9-1 guy would have to be beat twice by the 8-2

Neil stated a few times he would not mind making Steve Brown the winner if he went 10-0, (after another round). How much worse would it be to say that Steve was unquestionably better this weekend than the 3 7-2's? Even if only to save time?

The deal is, the 9th round was already an EXTRA round. The tournament was going too long as it was, and extra extra rounds lengthen it even more.

The guy who ought to be mad is Steve. Since IF IT WERE A REAL SWISS...

Steve will NOT be complaining in this forum, I can tell you that much for sure.

Extra rounds and "altered Swiss" formats favored the 7-2's GREATLY. The best player last weekend got punished. Poor Steve Brown, I sympathize with him.
