That's all very complex. It seems to me that you stop at round 9 or 10 (specified beforehand) and as long as you have one clear winner the tournament is over. If there are three or 4 players tied at 8-2 or something, they remain tied and paid that way. The ABT formula might have to be revisited for this kind of format, (1 first place winner and 3 or 4 tied at 2nd), but that could be handled.

If there isn't a clear winner after round 10, you need to play another round.
