Losing internet

Best wishes, Dan. Truly unfortunate you must go through such.
As most of you know I am a hard-core conservative (and very proud of it) and have zero use for criminals of any type.
Beyond the usual violent criminals (murderers, rapists, armed robbers, etc.) who we as a society are all too soft on, I would group burglars, ID thieves, credit card frauds, car thiefs, and the like in a category that we should come down on and come down on hard. Personally, I don't care if they all die in the streets at the hands of their victims or rot for life in the gutter or the nearest prison.
Unfortunately, we, as a society, have deteriorated to the level that laws and their observance are only the province of productive, responsible citizens. Far too many others have no respect for laws or the criminal justice system. That needs to change. Too many -- including whole societal groups -- within our society have adopted, support and condone a culture of cheating, fraud, and entitlement.
When the government loses all control and respect of crime and criminal justice, other measures become necessary. I fully anticipate it is going to get much worse before it gets better. The culture of entitlement and lawlessness must be corrected. To date, it is only going the wrong way.
We've seen over the past year here in Houston, any number of criminals killed or injured by their victims -- intended or real. Of course, the criminals have also upped the ante in terms of violence and firepower. It will be solved one way or the other.
