In Response To: Opening Moves Quiz #2 (Stick)

For people who aren't a member of GoL and thus can't read Marty's post I'll happily explain the reasoning behind the correct responses when I have time. right now rushing to get stuff posted/finished so I can leave for Pitt.

  1. Opening 6-4 run 4-3 reply. The correct response is 24/20 13/10. Honestly for most of these you can see Marty's Post for the explanations (only for GoL members). He's done a fine job on the first two sets of 'quizzes'.


  2. Opening 5-4 split 1-1reply> Correct is 6/5(2) 24/22(2) by .023


  3. Opening 4-1 split 5-4 response. Correct is 24/20 6/1* by .02


  4. Opening 5-2 two down 3-3 response. Correct is 8/5(2) 6/3(2) by .03


  5. Opening 4-3 big split 6-1 response. The jury is still out on this as of now. My GNU rollout shows hitting with 24/18 6/5* to be correct over the other hitting play by .018 and better than simply making the bar by .022! My Snowie rollout however, which I haven't posted after 3888 live cube games has making the bar point slightly better but hasn't yet reached statistical significance. I'm lengthening the rollout and don't have time to explain my preference of hitting right now but I'll repost after Pitt. with both rollouts & stat. sig. and we can discuss it.
