We have match equity charts, and they have developed similar charts on when to go for 2 and when not to. I ASSUME they all use that stuff.

The Browns thing is more problematic, but after managing only 3 points all game and facing 4th and long... One can't be too optimistic about their chances of success! (?) Might be the equivalent of hitting a 17-1 shot, but to make a field goal and have a successful onside kick and then score a touchdown, well that is two big sets in the bearoff vs. 3 checkers on the ace point.

The penalty is not all that surprising on the onside kick, they get into some weird formations doing that stuff, akin to deliberate backgame play.

Announcers on the second rate football games tend to be ex players, and they have no idea about odds. They are desperately searching for the next cliche' to use so they sound like they know what they are talking about to the average fan at least.

That's okay, I guess it all equals out, I have no idea how to bull rush a 300 lb offensive tackle, either!
