I split as usual. We are closing in on, but not yet near enough to scores where we are basically GG once we can turn the cube. We'd like to make more gammonish plays if the decision is close, but the rollouts have shown that splitting an opening 52 is correct by about .010 and even at this score I still feel it is correct, but by a smaller margin, of course.
