I need to do a study of when to hit and when not to in the race, because I feel that Lamford's 10% rule is insufficient for 98% of positions. I don't have the book in front of me, but Lamford explored only a small subset of racing positions (opp has a closed board, you have a 5 point board, opp is on the 5 point and threatening to escape with any number and so on).
