I'm having a problem understanding why this is a puzzle. I'm sure that it is more complicated than it appears to me. If Blue wins a gammon, he wins the match. Why not just plain for the gammon? Blue will probably have enough opportunities to roll the necessary six. White's GWC seems to be less than 25% and faces a significant gammon threat. I do not see enough to take.
