I really like 501, and believe it has helped me a good deal. I'm not done with it - I will work through it over and over again. It has a nice mix of checker and cube problems. Robertie is excellent, but of course since this was pre-bots, it ain't "perfect". I have investigated 58 of the problems with GNU as I was suspicious of them, and found 30% of those where GNU (on 2 ply) liked another move a little better, but never with a huge equity swing - the biggest was .08 and most were .03 or smaller. Very likely, the percentage of agreement between GNU and Robertie would be much higher than 70% if you checked all 501 problems.

I think this book is a fine improvement tool for anyone from high end beginners to advanced players.
