Definitely. I didn't play and participate in forums (it is same for me) this summer about 3-4 weeks and after that I start play much better than I played before break (after few horrible introduction matches, off course). There is good article by Mary Hickey here: http://www.gammonvillage.com/backgammon/news/article_display_print.cfm?resourceID=5579 Not only about BG burnout but about dark side of BG. Now I am thinking how to find best balance between playing and learning and having nothing with BG. Not sure but definitely after three weeks of playing or learning I need one week break. And I think one day in week without BG is also good practice. And off course summer break for about one month. Otherwise there is real danger that BG become too much important in your life at first and second (about everybody here is more concerned) your game will suffer and ER will become higher. It is just my 2c.
