Clock cautions.

I've seen three clocks in use by Bg players. These are the feelings I've gather in on them:
CL2016 The DGT Easy Plus! Pros: Popular with players due to the large donker. Cons: The seconds counter is very small indeed and it's quite a bulky clock to transport to and from bg venues. http://www.chessbaron.co.uk/gallery/CL2016/CL2016.jpg
Saitek’s Competition Pro game clock. Pros: Clear and easy to read at a glance. Cons: Unpopular with players due to the small donker - very acturate donking required which distracts from playing the game. http://www.saitek.com/uk/images/product/clock2.jpg
Excalibur GameTime-II. Pros: Hard wearing, good seconds display but can have lots of other digits on screens which players do not understand. Once programmed very easy to re-set. Cons: Donkers when leveled are not always totally level which leads to questions such as "Are they really leveled?" http://www.excaliburelectronics.net/Merchant2/graphics/00000004/750GT_2_parlor.jpg
They are ALL a bugger to learn how to set.
Price wise there isn't really a lot of difference between these 3. Let's face it, if you're interested enough to purchase a clock you're gonna buy the one of your choice and swallow the price.
What would be really handy is if the Bg world decides upon one make of clock above all others - but then again unified rankings and rules would be the ideal as well. Then what happens when a newer and better clock comes on the market? It's the old Beta versus VHS situation all over again.
