Yes staying on 15 actually costs surprisingly few games for the extra gammons. I guess the double fours people have mentioned pulls back a fair chunk of the losses to double three. Gnu evaluation on 2-ply and 3-ply both preferred 16/9, with 3-ply liking it by quite a bigger margin. Interesting that 1-ply as well as 4-ply found the right move.
