If your question is why Stick and the rest of us are so certain that the slot is right with 21 but wrong with 41, good question. I have no idea. Maybe gnubg 8.12 or BGBlitz 2015 will reverse this assessment.

If your question is will 2-ply rollouts beat 4-ply or 5-ply or any other player in the world on average (ergo, on average, find more correct plays than anyone else), I am quite confident that they will.

In the case of an opening 12 roll, it hardly matters which of the two candidate plays is preferred.

You should definitely go with your preference IMO on this roll. owever, I believe that slotting is correct and will slot with 21 but split with 41. 51 I will generally split but often slot.
