The Great Rollout Conspiracy

There are a couple of things to note about the opening 2-1 and 4-1 rolls. I haven't yet sorted out what is the primary reason for preferring 21$ and 41S, but all points are relevant.
1. 41S has greater point making potential than 21S does. The slot doesn't add as much offense with a 41 since it is high already.
2. The blot on the nine point after 41$ is hit four times when the 5 point slot is not hit. You are better off with the split when this happens. (Less likely to cover the slot, more likely to make an advanced anchor, etc.) Note that the blot on the 11 point is never hit when the slot is not hit.
Misc. Also note that you have created good sixes after playing 21$ whether you are hit or not. And, twos may profitably cover the 11 in some situations. With 41$, you have fours to cover both the 5 & 9 points.
