Okay, I'll be the first to admit I probably/doubtlessly misplayed this sequence -- but what a price to pay. Don't have Snowie available to me at the moment so I've not had the chance to analyze it with the computer yet.
I pondered it for quite a while but I chose not to redouble. Rolled a 5-2. I played 13/8, 13/11 thinking I wanted even more ammo to try to make my 5 point and that I'd rather get hit inside rather than outside so I likely get the immediate return shot, and if I was going to get hit with an indirect shot I didn't want it to be the leaping 6-5. Of course, my play did leave two blots rather than one, gave him the leaping 6-2, and provided 20 (I think) total hitting numbers rather than 13 but at the moment I was overcome with some urge to make it anyway. In the pressure of the moment I'm not even sure I considered all of these factors.
Norm hits loose with a 6-3, I dance, and he rolls the obligatory 6-6 -- jumping both out and continuing on to close his board. Gammon city. 6-10/11 Crawford. I lose the match in the next game.
So, w/o yet having the advantage of Snowie, I think I should have recubed and I think I should have just played 21/14. Such is the beauty of hindsight.
