Will Stock Market Tanking Hurt BG Attendance?

I am MOST DEFINATELY not here to talk about politics.
But lets note that I think the majority of US players aren't independently wealthy. For those who are independently wealthy the stock market decline hurts most, but real estate decline also hurts lots. But these people have enough money that the decision to spend a 1000 or 1500 bucks on a weekend of BG is not affected.
Quite a few players are quite comfortable financially, but when faced with clearly having less personal wealth than a year or two ago and fearing more declines, and if combined with less income from their day jobs, some will choose to attend fewer tourneys, especially ones that they have to fly to.
Other players are just normal middle class or less Americans managing to own a modest home and raising a family, but having little spare cash for BG weekends away. A couple years ago, maybe they could afford one weekend away a year for BG, but now, and especially if faced with any prospect of loss of job, they most likely won't go to any tourney that isn't close to home, if at all.
So ..YES.. the economic crisis will reduce attendence somewhat, and I think that it allready is causing lower attendence. The perception of fear and uncertainty caused the stock market to drop over 8% (combined averages) yesterday. That same perception will cause some of those who have only a few thousand spare dollars of disposable cash to reconsider the wisdom of spending a grand on a BG weekend.
