Re transcribing, whatever works for you for me is fine. I've found that the most important thing is that the system whatever it is make sense on the rare occasions that a mistake is made in the transcription. If you can quickly figure out a day or weeks later, say, that the 54S wrongly written down was supposed to be 43$ or such, then the system is verbose enough.
