The decision to hit or not is a matter of comparison of how much does it hurt us to be return hit vs how much does it hurt Stick if we hit.
Note that Stick has 10 return shots since 33 and 44 hit us in the outfield. Stick has a nice 3 pt board and we don't want to be hit when we have extra blots exposed as this game could quickly turn against us.
A big issue with hitting is that we have to do something with the blots after he enters and that we may end up leaving the blot on the 10 pt exposed to a direct shot.
Stick misses 26 times and hits us immediately 10 times, but I really don't see our gains from being missed being nearly 40% of the cost from being hit here.
When we see that the safe play keeps an outfield landing point and no liabilities and that stepping up in Stick's nearly builderless board is useful, both to escape and to shoot at potential builder-blots in his vacant outfield, the safe play is really clear to me.
Not feeling very well today and missed my train, but am predicting a ride on the BK Express for some of us.
