His lifetime on base percentage is .375 Best career OBP is Ted Williams at .482. 25th best all time is .424 So his is far away from being one of the highest ever...............
Well # 25 all time was like less than .050 above Pete Rose? So maybe he was top 100... ?
Is a top 100 backgammon player good or great today? How many centuries have they been playing baseball now?
Surprised to see how often he got caught stealing, but you steal when the manager says to... that is a team function.
I bet he broke up more DP's than anybody, when you think about it. Singles hitter, most hits, abs, outs whatever stat you want... He was running to second base alot on grounders up the middle. Breaking up double plays is good for your team. I liked his style of play, but he was an idiot and ego maniac off the field. So what? Put him in the hall of fame, he belongs there.
