Taking a general overview of their stats alone it seems as if Bench is only a shade better than Carter. (though defensively Carter may get the nod)

Cepeda v. Gehrig, that's not even a fair comparison lol. Gehrig was a lefty on top of that, a shade of apple with a slice of orange.

Puckett v. Mays, not a realistic comparison since Kirby played but 11 seasons & Mays played twice as many. Mays would be the hands down choice, defensive monster compared to Kirby to boot.

Playing in different times makes things such a difficult comparison.
