How many players were versatile and capable enough to positively contribute at so many positions? Rose played first, second, third, left consistently, and probably the other outfield positions. Only one that immediately comes close in my mind in Craig Biggio -- catcher for several years when he came up, second for a decade, center for 2-3 years, back to second to end his career.
