It's very clear to pay now because if you don't you'll start trashing your board and I will stay with one guy anyway (and the race isn't a won deal for you yet if esp. if you start playing behind me). Even if I had a perfect board I believe it would still be correct by a huge margin to pay now. If you play behind me you're still likely to leave me a shot and if you do it now you leave about as few shots as you can hope for, 13.
