I remember the real time coverage of the event. Taylor and Behagen were reported as the instigators and main actors. Musselman was treated as a madman martinet type coach.

The SI article makes Winfield the 3d/4th man in. Sometimes those are the cheap shot guys. But I can't get to the position that an undergraduate basketbrawl disqualifies you from the Baseball HOF.
