I think GNU will ding you with a full combo meal and toy here.

GNU often makes the anchor more frequently than is right in similar situations where the race is close but you have the stronger board. But here it's just awful. You're way behind in the race, you need contact, and White is totally stripped and is going to be leaving you shots on many rolls. After 24/21 22/21 he has free 5s 4s and 3s to play behind you plus 6s and 4s to run. You already have the bar point and the 4 and bar are too close together, but that's a more minor consideration (I would prefer strategically to play 22/18 rather than 24/21 22/21 with the 31 and play a 1-7 holding game, even if tactics had nothing to do with it).

Plus, White's straggler needs to be addressed before he scampers home.
