In retrospect I don't know why I backed off and didn't recube here.

I'm a favorite to either hit the blot or make the five point -- with a few overlapping decision numbers that do either.

If he's taken a 4-cube I think I'm hitting the ace before making the five, given the choice. Increase my gammon chances and try to avoid some joker catastrophe.

But would Norm take the 4-cube staring at a potential gammon loss for the match or, even if not gammoned, a 9-6/11 lead for Bill? He couldn't have anticipated the joker sequence that followed that gave him the gammon win.
