Speaking for myself, I need to be kicked harder than that mild ridicule for this take. What a disaster!

The thematic b-21 is unlikely to lead to release of a checker since we may be facing a six point prime next turn. And, if we are only facing a five point prime, we need to roll an immediate six. If we roll that six, we just help Stick's timing by recirculating the checker. b-21 is unlikely to accomplish its mission.

The alternative I see is to make the third anchor on the ace point and play 8-5. The ace point has the potential to slow Stick's bear-in further damaging our timing. The idea of 8-5 is NOT to be hit. It is an attempt to make the point and set up a few bad rolls like 5-4 and 4-4. In the event that we can escape with a six, we would forfeit the four anchor and play with the 1-3. Because our timing is so fragile, we would want to switch to the two anchor if the chance presents itself.

The common theme with both of these plays is that they are hopeless. In the end, it appears crazy to play a game which requires more timing when we don't have any now. We should probably not risk sending more checkers behind the prime without good reason. It will just increase gammons. So, I'll play b-21. If we're lucky, we'll hit a shot later which has little chance to win with our board crunched, but might save the gammon.
