I guess its between 8/4*/1 and 10/3. The former leaves 18 shots and does nothing for solving the big problem, and the latter leaves 24 shots and starts work on the big problem.

I suppose I am likely inclined to go with the safest play here, as a hit really ends the match (also that hitting play is 2 blots).
