Peoria Update/ Clock Issues

In response to some of the earlier threads we had here on Clock usage and suggestions for instilling clock play, particularily with BG Clock newbies. Peoria allowed the players (unless mandated by the Director, for a particular match) to play with the clocks, outside of the published Clock rules, aka to "practice" under live conditions. If the director was informed by both players ahead of time they were doing so.
The goal being, to get a feel for both the mechanics of clock/clock rule usage as well as a gauge of there time management skills. I didnt get my clock until late Fri night, so started Sat. Of the "practice" clocked matches, (my first match with CJC plus 2 other matches I know about with others) the modification was simply, No penalty, for a time violation. I played my next two matches with the clock but with the clock alive, so to speak. After that, due to the bye's and final drop ins from the Consol, in the LC we were "ahead" a round or two in the brackets and being 5pter's, it didnt get used for the remainder.
I beleive its only a matter of time before it will become manditory and feel the more exposure with as many players as possible can only be a good thing. In which case, having the Practice option at this point (and maybe somewhat in the future at say the Advnaced division), can only help this along.
