I have experienced the most bizarre cubing decisions by my online opponents. I am surprised if you have not seen the same. Recently, a poster spoke about his incredibly poor luck after an insane double by his opponent.

I seek my challenge by frequently playing Snowie and evaluating all online matches in a constant attempt to improve my Snowie rating. Strong online opponents are not necessary for a backgammon challenge. My Snowie rating is mostly due to my own decisions. It really isn't effected much by the strength of my opponents. In fact, my online Snowie rating is very similar to my Snowie rating against Snowie. Sometimes my opponents are better than me. Many times they are cube clueless.

Again some of online cubing decisions are outrageous. Some idiot cubed me with only a 43% GWC as he faced about a 25% gammon. His error was .910. Hell, my next move was a cubing error because I was too shocked to immediately recube him. I did recube and won 8 points.

Horrendous cubing is not an aberration online. My checker play became decent way before my cubing. If my experience is typical, the checker learning curve may be quicker than the cubing. This is especially true for match cubing.

Again Neil, I am shocked if you have not seen quite a bit of poor cubing from your online opponents.

Stanley
